A tribute honoring legendary Disney Imagineer Bob Gurr took place Sunday night at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana.
Gurr was hired by Walt Disney in 1954 and became a key figure in the creation of Disneyland. He's the last of the original Imagineers still living.
For decades, he has shared stories from the park's earliest days with fans eager to learn more.
''They love Disneyland, but they want to know more about Walt Disney and they find out, 'Oh my God, there's an old guy still alive? Oh let's go see what he says! I want to ask him some questions,'' Gurr said. ''So I get all the questions that are directed with fans who want to know all the history going way back to before Disneyland was built.''
Gurr's work includes some of Disneyland's most iconic attractions, such as the Autopia cars, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and the Disneyland Monorail.
