Disneyland Resort recently surpassed 1 billion all-time visitors in 2025! The news was shared just in time for its 70th birthday. The news was reported by The Orange County Register.
In the past, Disney announced attendance milestones, including 100 million all-time visitors in 1971. In 2004, when visitor Bill Trow entered Disneyland at 10:16 a.m. on January 8 of that year, Disney celebrated the 500 millionth visitor. The “population” sign on the Main Street station was last updated to 650,000,000 in 2013.
It’s likely that Disneyland would have passed 1 billion visitors sooner if it hadn’t been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic from March 2020 to April 2021.
It is estimated that 2.3 million guests visit Disneyland Resort each month. Approximately 75,890 guests combined enter the parks daily. Based on these numbers, OCR estimates the 1 billionth visitor entered one of the parks on February 15.
Prior to the COVID-19 closure, Disneyland Park’s attendance numbers peaked in 2019. According to TEA/AECOM estimates, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure combined had 27.7 million visitors in 2023. The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger during a speech on the 70th anniversary of Disneyland, said that Disneyland Resort had reached “almost 30 million” annual guests.
Disney California Adventure reached an all-time attendance record of 10 million visitors in 2023. Disneyland’s attendance, however, was still 1 million behind its 2019 peak.
About 996.5 million total would have entered the parks by the end of 2024. If Disneyland’s attendance increased from 2023, it’s possible the park reached 1 billion all-time guests last year.
