Police are searching for a man after two suspicious items were left near the bus roundabout leading to a Disneyland entrance Monday night.

The packages were reported around 9:30 p.m. near a fence at the Disneyland east entrance roundabout, Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Anderson confirmed.

Officers found a satchel-style bag sitting on a dolly with wires protruding from it and a nylon bag that was duct-taped shut with what appeared to be sharp objects sticking out, Anderson said.

The roundabout was blocked off while an explosives team and bomb-sniffing dogs responded to the scene.

The team later discovered the satchel contained marbles, while the nylon bag contained several miscellaneous items, including Disney-branded crowns and other objects with pointed edges, Anderson said.

Officials determined the items posed no threat at 11:45 p.m. However, investigators believe they were intentionally placed to appear suspicious.

Police are now searching for a man suspected of leaving the packages at the bus roundabout.

Information about the suspect was obtained through surveillance video and witness accounts, but police have not identified the man or released any images.

Disneyland tells KTLA that the Esplanade was temporarily cleared of guests in an abundance of caution following the reports of a suspicious package Monday evening, but the area was later reopened and normal operations will continue Tuesday.
