A total of 12 new signs have been added around Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland, warning guests that they “will” be removed from the park if they choose to stand up while riding the log-flume attraction.

Matthew Desmond, who runs the Disney Scoop Guy account on X, posted about the new signage. He noted that the signs clarify the language used in earlier warnings, which stated that guests “may” be removed from the park.

Disneyland officials told KTLA that teams are evaluating several actions to help enforce safety rules at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The updated spiel will help guests waiting to board the ride understand the nature of the attraction and the options available if they choose not to ride with their party.

Refreshed signage was installed the week of Aug. 14, according to resort officials.

Earlier this summer, a 13-year-old boy exited his ride vehicle on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure before the end of the attraction on June 21, prompting a cast member to stop the ride.

Video from the incident shows the teen sliding down the attraction’s 50-foot drop after exiting the log at the top of the hill. He first falls onto the side of the slide, then tumbles backward to the bottom.

He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation as a precaution and was later released, Disneyland officials previously told KTLA. The teen did not sustain serious injuries.

It remains unclear what prompted him to climb out of the ride, especially at that point in the attraction.

Splash Mountain was rethemed as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024. The log-flume ride does not use lap bars or seat belts.

The resort took similar measures in 2023, when a dangerous TikTok trend encouraged guests to improperly secure their seatbelts to increase airtime while riding Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout at Disney California Adventure.
